Research expertise

My teaching and research activities focus mainly on political communication. More specifically, I am interested in political journalism, political uses of the Web and social media, the hybridization of genres between information and entertainment, and electoral campaigns, which are by definition communication operations. The quality of information and the efficiency of its transmission to the public are my main research interests in these fields. I work on these projects alone or on teams with colleagues from Quebec, elsewhere in Canada and Europe. I am also very interested in research methodology, in particular techniques used in surveys and in content analysis that I apply elsewhere in my research.

I am a researcher with the Groupe de recherche en communication politique and the Centre for the Study of Democratic Citizenship, two research organizations that let member graduate students meet with other students, discuss their projects and receive support from member professors. I am the co-organizer of the annual CSDC Graduate Student Conference.
